This is a traditional mask of the Dong people of Central China. They have a long tradition of working with wood and they have several dances that incorporate masks.

What I know about it

This handmade mask has a very strange facial expression which is typical of most Dong masks.

Why I like it

I chose this because it represents a minority people in China is very unknown to most Chinese and foreigners alike. Their strong tradition of wood carving is finely shown in the expressions in their masks.
